BRIEF

Nothing fulfils us like interweaving state-of-the-art tech with the period features and character of older properties. This gorgeous Grade II listed house was undergoing renovation to become an ultra-low energy home. With ambitious sustainability targets and the chance to work with eminent designers John Cullen and Sally Storey: we knew this install was something to get excited about.

Subtlety was the name of the game. Leading-edge solutions were blended elegantly with the property’s classic style. All controls for the extensive climate and lighting systems were distributed with artful minimalism, hiding the KNX control unit behind the Forbes and Lomax switches. The property wide Control4 audio system was surreptitiously situated in the ceilings and among the garden shrubs. Even the CCTV camera colours were matched to their surroundings, offering complete coverage of the house and grounds without disturbing their bucolic feel. The system is partially powered by turbines in the stream encircling the property, harnessing the kinetic energy of the flowing waters. Our clients Digital Butler membership ensures energy use throughout the property remains in line with their environmental aims.
