The Project
In the picturesque setting of historically designed by Capability Brown land, this project was spearheaded by main contractor Donovan Construction, De-Draft Architects and Katie Groves Interior Designer, with the vision of crafting a dwelling that not only serves the functional needs of a family but also stands as a testament to sustainable and innovative technology and design. The clients returned to us with confidence after a previous successful home refit, wanting to infuse their new residence with elements that had enriched their former home, such as a cinema, and generous entertaining spaces.
The Brief
The essence of this project was to create a space that was not just a place to live but a sanctuary for entertainment, personal expression, and communal pleasure. Central to this was the incorporation of advanced home automation to streamline and elevate the living experience. The integration of a cinema and dance studio underscored the family’s love for art and movement, while the emphasis on a kitchen as an entertaining nucleus highlighted the importance of communal spaces. The challenge lay in seamlessly integrating state-of-the-art technology and luxurious amenities without compromising the home’s aesthetic appeal.
The Result
The result is a testament to the seamless fusion of luxury living and advanced home automation. The basement has been transformed into a multi functional entertainment hub, featuring a custom-built cinema, dance studio, and nightclub, each designed as a testament to the family’s vibrant lifestyle.
Technology was woven into the fabric of the home with meticulous care, ensuring that every feature, from the plastered-in speakers in every room to the discreetly integrated climate control systems, enhances the living experience without intruding on the space’s aesthetic or tranquility. The sophisticated KNX backbone ensures that the functionalities, from the avant-garde window treatments to the eco-conscious heating system, all working in perfect harmony to provide a seamless and intuitive user experience.
